Bright + Bold

I’m feeling this might be the year I get back into colour and print.

The problem I always encountered was being able to access those unique pieces that explored colour and print in the way I liked. High street and vintage just always fell much too short for me in terms of both quality and providing the prints I really wanted. So that’s a lot of why I stopped exploring those bold, layered, print clashing outfits I used to. The quality I wanted I just didn’t have access to.

So whilst I’m saying I might get back into colour and print this year, it might simply be from a featuring it on here perspective. In terms of inspiration, let’s begin with Kalissa.

Kalissi is an emerging Viennese womenswear brand, founded by Christina Maria Hrdlicka in 2017, based between Vienna and London. The designer spent many years working in advertising, visual identities, fashion photography and graphic design before using her eclectic mix of creative roles to form the aesthetic of Kalissi.

Having been featured in Vogue IT and WWD already, London Fashion Week AW19 will mark Kalissi's first catwalk show.

Her AW19 collection, Roial, is inspired by the Austrian imperial times, kaiserlich und könglich.

The collection takes it’s focus on opulent details such as pearls and ruffles paired with contemporary shapes and bright colours. Embellishment and accessories are all handcrafted in the designer’s studio in Vienna/Austria.
