A Little Honey

I’ve told you countless times over the 12 years of this blog about my underwear addiction. It comes and goes depending on how prevalent the old muffin top happens to be, but I’m operating at minimal muffin at the moment so have been taking the opportunity to fill my drawer with delicious new underthings. To me underwear is merely another accessory to explore and enjoy within your wardrobe. It simply serves as another layer to have fun with. For that reason I look for styles that reflect what I wear on the outside, so straps, leather, studs, lace etc - all little things I look for when buying new underwear. Luckily one of my favourite lingerie brands ever, Honey Birdette, has it all. Right down to detachable shoulder epaulettes on the Valerie. I think she’s my next purchase.

I pretty much want every single thing in the shop. The quality of this brand is top notch as everything is created using the most luxurious of materials. My only tiny complaint is that I feel the bands of the bras run a little small, so they have a tendency to make me bulge a little just at the side of my breasts. I’m a solid 34C and usually a bra at the smallest setting won’t make me bulge but in Honey Birdette when the bra is set to the widest setting I do feel there is spill over. But of course other people might not have the same experience.

I haven’t tried the knickers yet so can’t vouch for those. Luckily they have easy, free returns. I’m going to make my first purchase of a pair of knickers soon though, which I think are going to be the aptly named, Miss M, which features military details.

I’m also currently loving white/ivory underwear. I have a stunning white Broderie Anglaise set by Aubade, which got me all through summer, but for winter I think I’m going to lace it up, with the Jessica set in ivory.

My advice would be if you see something you love and it’s in your size, buy it because each piece sells out so quickly and I’m not sure how quickly they restock.
