The pedigree of creative talent that continues to spill out of the Antwerp’s Royal Academy is just mind boggling. It must be something they put in the water.
They must grow and nurture their young designers to such an immense degree because the school has produced some of the most innovative design talent the fashion industry has ever been blessed with.
Famous names aside, such as Martin Margiela and Dries Van Noten, the new stream of designers coming out of the school are similarly impressive. A name that really stuck out for me is definitely Austrian designer Raffaela Graspointner.
Her graduate collection, 'Holi Blush Bubble Crush' is a bold concoction of David Hockney inspired colour and bold colour blocking.
With scallop-hems, laser-cut leather and glitter-printed flower motifs, the collection is ultra feminine but manages to avoid being overly saccharine.
