cut it out...

In our  digital world, sometimes it seems that nothing travels faster than pictures of shoes.

All of a sudden a label you had never heard of is popping up everywhere including into The Kingdom inbox.

Ask Alice is one of those labels. I have come across more images of their shoes than tongue can tell in this last month alone.

George Mang, head designer of AskAlice shoes launched his first shoe store and collection in Nolita in 2013. After the success of a very sought after limited-edition collection he launched in 2005, Mang took over an 800-square foot space in the heart of the city, and filled it with eye-popping shoes. He interprets classic styles such as booties, pumps and flats into unique color-block creations featuring intricately placed mesh, patent leather, zippers, cuffs and Velcro closures.

“I love this generation of young women who are taking control of the way they express themselves through style and fashion. For the first time ever, they are being celebrated on a mass scale for showing just how quirky they are and not having to succumb to the manufactured look that some establishment thinks they should be." - George Mang

Mang is a favourite of countless off duty models for his“Off-beat, On-Trend Shoes”

While I could take or leave his heels, what really caught my eye though were the cut out 'Tyler' Brogues, complete with quirky heel details. Perfect for Queen Michelle to add to her extensive brogue collection.

Tyler II $350 in Steel Grey Calf, Black Linen, Black Patent Leather.
