Walking with Warbs...

When I dream , it’s usually in vibrant colur.

Often the colours are saturated, to such an extent that even within the dream, I often think “oh look at the colour of that sky, this must be a dream” But no matter how vivid they are, they are no match for the colours and skies produced in the work of illustrator and animator Holly Warburton

Based in Bath, she paints on a tablet to create utterly captivating images filled with love and light. Her work both and enchants and moves me. In many ways it reminds me of the feeling I had when I first came across the work of Franz Marc. Who knew a horse could be blue?

Talking about her work which often have its roots in not just memories but in real moments from her day to day life, she say “I am most inspired by the people and places I see around me every day.“

Much of her work features people walking through a landscape on their way to an unknown destination, creating a feeling of both melancholy and nostalgia. Maybe that’s just me, because I can also see that they could be hopeful and filled with relief at finally arriving home…

Holly is also a talented animator and is available for commission.

Busy though my walls are, I’m already scheming how to make room for her work
