Join The Army

I have always had an affinity with military inspired style.

Camouflage plays a constant part in my wardrobe, as does army green (or ‘techno’ green as Queen Marie I call it). I lived in combat trousers for almost the entirety of the 90’s and my Maharishi camouflage jacket was never off during the 00’s.

In terms of being a ‘trend’, military has it’s moment every so often but the beautiful thing about military inspired pieces is that they never feel dated. There aren’t very many ways to reinvent the look so anything you buy will always be wearable.

I was having a bit of a wardrobe clearout recently and was going to sell some Isabel Marant boots that consist of army green suede and black leather, which I never wore as I felt they never really suited me.

As I was photographing them however, I realised I actually kinda love them! I decided to wear them yesterday with my ASOS WHITE combat skirt and Prince B’s vintage jacket.

Just call me Sergeant. Or Captain. Either works.
