2008

You’ll notice Queen Marie and I do not adhere to trends, whims or seasons. In fact, I’d go as far to say we both trends are utterly ridiculous, or more specifically buying into trends so you can feel current or relevant is utterly ridiculous.

I have looks and items I favour only fleetingly, but they are fleeting not because ‘fashion’ tells me their moment is up, but because they no

longer fit into my style at that specific moment. But very few things are only momentary for me. I have things from many years ago that I still wear even now.

I continually go back to old collections I found inspiring at the time because they still speak to me even now. I have featured many collections like that on here and I’m prompted to feature another today.

RICK OWENS F/W08

This collection goes down as easily one of my all time favourites. I have a stunning cashmere wool jacket from this collection and I just found a pair of thigh boots from the collection which are winging their way to me as we speak. This collection has everything - mixed textures, engaging silhouettes, challenging shapes and a beautiful muted palette that doesn’t wholly rely on black.
