united by tulle...

Today's post is for Queen Michelle and all her lovely adult ballerinas.

Nothing big, nothing clever just a visual treat of some properly beautiful dresses that you all deserve to wear. Every time I see Queen Michelle pop up on pointe I am filled with admiration and a sense of astonishment that she is able to do that. She said she was going to do it and nothing stopped her until she did. She basically willed herself right up onto her toes and to watch someone do that, just makes you realise that if you go "all in" for something you love, then anything is possible...

The dresses are from the Spring Summer 16  Yulia Yanina.  collection.

She decided to share her childhood hopes, dreams and memories in the form a a modern fairy tale. From her mind comes forth the wishes of every little girl to become a ballerina. Well almost every little girl, I can honestly say that it never crossed my tubby little mind. I was too busy outside building dens.

From cocktail dresses and sheath gowns to fuller ballroom inspirations, Yanina worked with rich materials such as lace, velvet, chiffon and tulle. They work wonderfully in the dresses where the ballerina becomes a swan. Even when she does not use feathers, her employment of other materials creates the strong illusion of still seeing them, and ballet is all about illusion...
