Blue for you...

Hmmmmmmmmm.

Here’s two brands I never thought I would be writing about in the same sentence. Nike and Tiffany

March the 7th sees the launch of the first official partnership for both brands with Nike teaming up with Tiffany & Co. Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Nike’s flagship sneaker, the Air Force 1 Low, to launch a limited edition capsule collection.

As well as the shoes themselves there will be an extra pair of blue laces with sterling silver tabs, a sterling silver shoe horn, a sterling silver whistle and a sterling silver toothbrush to keep your new shoes pristine. Although lets be honest no one is ever actually going to wear these shoes. At $400 a pair, they are going to be snapped up by avid collectors who will pop them onto a shelf in their little sneaker dungeons and simply sit and look at them.

The worst thing of all though is just how unimaginative these shoes are. Just imagine if they had done something unexpected, perhaps including Elsa Peretti organic shapes or motifs. But as it is, they are dull dull dull.

Needless to say no money has been spared putting images of them in front of as many people as possible. They are all over social media and even in full page press adverts. It’s a sad day when the best thing I can say is, I like the look of the laces…

Just take a look at that script logo sewn on the tongue.

Oh dear lord. Give me a shout when you stop cringing.I suspect it may be a while.

If however you have money to burn, the collection wh will be priced from $250 to $475 and will be launching on Tiffany.com in the United States, as well as at the two Tiffany & Co. New York City locations.
