The roar of the city...

They say that Naples is a city like no other. A chaotic vibrant energy. A city of heart and instinct.

I’ve never been but have always harboured a notion to see it.

Which is doubtless why Dolce and Gabanna chose it to use it for their Fall/Winter 22 advertising campaign.

Through the lens of Juergen Teller, Naples is revealed in its most spontaneous form, accompanied by typical local sounds. In a mix of contrasts, between authenticity and futurism, the city becomes the backdrop to the collection.

The new campaign tells the story of a mystic fascination with Naples. That story seems to be that -

‘Shoulders are back kids’ and they are bigger and badder than ever.

Would I wear any of it? No

Do I appreciate the energy of it all? Yes

Fashion should be fun and in your face sometimes.
