Everything but the kitchen sink...

You never know what you are going to find on KOS.

No object escapes our attention.

We write about everything but the kitchen sink.

Until today that is. Welcome to a post about sinks…

However these are no ordinary sinks. They are glorious concrete creations from Kast. A design-led business based on the edge of Sherwood Forest, in the heart of the UK who specialise in the design and manufacture of contemporary concrete basins,

I was slightly hestiant to share these, as I know that Queen Michelle will instantly want to rip out every sink in her house and replace them with one of these concrete beauties.

Who knew concrete could be so versatile and so colourful

Tom Bayes the founder and managing director loves concrete with a passion…

“Nothing else is quite like concrete.

Concrete starts out life as a liquid and combines the organic characteristics of natural stone with the ability to be cast into any shape and color. Its versatility enables us to engineer products that push the boundaries of design. Aside from all this versatility, we think concrete has a certain magic to it, too. It’s a stone that cures. It’s alive in some ways. No two pieces are ever the same. It also has a contemporary context that other stone materials don’t have.”

No longer just associated with the severity of Brutalist architecture it can add a contemporary touch of glamour and luxury to any room.

I know I’ve shown quite a lot of pink ones but it comes in all these glorious colours below. 28 colors in fact, from white to black, stopping by Mineral, Thistle, and Duck Egg to name but a few.

You can order individual samples or a whole box. I’m especially smitten with that Tiffany blue colour showing top left.

I’m willing to bet that will you scowl at your dull sink the next time you walk into your bathroom.

I know I will…

Queen Marie
