White Lightning Moonshine
EVEN COWGIRLS GET
THE (DENIM) BLUES
I mentioned recently that I had swapped out my skintight black jeans for flares. I create these moodboards, which I sometimes share with you guys and then, usually, I act upon them. Out of nowhere the flares thing emerged some months ago. I guess I was just sick of the same skinny silhouette I fall back on time and time again and I had a few images saved on Pinterest that just kinda tipped me over into giving them a go. I specifically wanted a pair that were skintight to the knee - baby steps and all - then went all out from the knee down. In my mind was 70's California and a little bit western. Flares can all too easily tip into Yummy Mummy territory so if you want to give them a go and feel the need to pair them with a white button down, stop yourself. The look should be fun and even a bit tongue and cheek, not Liz Hurley circa 1998.
Prince B and I took a well needed break last week and headed for a wee adventure into the mountains on the one spring day we've had so far. It was the perfect opportunity to shoot the outfit I've been pretty much living in, as well as soak up the restful views and generally just chill out in the sun.
We also indulged in what I guess you might call a bit of light breaking and entering. There is a really cool derelict pier and assorted buildings that are all boarded up and blocked off but we, well broke in, and took a wander around and snapped some photos.
What's a bit of breaking and entering between lovers?

At first I was sure the shape would not be flattering on me at all as I have fairly muscular thighs and drawing attention to those skull crushers is rarely something I have any desire to do, but dammit if the're not some of the most flattering jeans I've worn in a long time. I also got them in black, obviously, but I have to say I am loving the blue versions more. You've only ever seen me in blue jeans one other time on this blog because I only own one other pair which never get worn, so opting for these was a step outside of my comfort zone but I'm pleased I decided just to go for it.
So yeah, expect to see more flared explorations.
