2 Days 2 Ways: Marques' Almeida Shirt / Day 1
CHECKS AND SPOTS

Is it too early to be wishing for spring? Well let me tell you, I'm ready for it. I'm thoroughly sick of winter and just long for some thawing sunshine. I figured if I started to dig out my spring brights perhaps it'd encourage the winter to bugger off early. Unfortunately for you guys that's means one thing - gingham. I'm pretty certain I sickened you guys with those tiny little checks last year but I'm still addicted to them so here we are again.
My Marques' Almeida shirt with built in corset takes gingham to a whole new level of awesome though. It comes with a detachable corset which can be removed entirely, worn zipped up or worn unzipped and I wear it all those ways. The hems have Almeida's signature frayed edges.
So this is one of two ways I have styled this shirt, the second installment will come on Wednesday.
Here I have styled it with opposing huge monochrome spots. However, what I really need to compliment this shirt is a pair of wide leg trousers in a bold colour or print, which I've been searching for for months with no luck. Hurrumph.

Almeida is best known for his frayed denim but I personally prefer his non-denim pieces. I picked this shirt up from his AW16/17 mainline collection because, well gingham. It also has enough unique details, such as the large metal rings which hold together the cuffs, to make the whole gingham situation edgy rather than twee.
