On Safari

Summer may have abandoned us here in Glasgow but a tropical paradise isn't too far away...

Last week Prince B and were positively sick of the crappy weather we've been experiencing so decided that whilst we couldn't feel the sun on our faces, we sure could feel the heat, so we took ourselves to the glorious Victorian Botanic Gardens to enjoy some tropical heat right here in Glasgow.

It was the perfect location to shoot my fern adorned vintage dress I scooped for £14 in Armstrong's in Edinburgh a few weeks ago. You can't really go to Edinburgh without popping into the famous Armstrong's Vintage. The word 'emporium' was made for Armstrong's because that's exactly what it is. Positively rammed with weird and wonderful vintage items.

The dress was a bit of mess on the inside, as no seams had been overlocked and were fraying like crazy, so it pretty much needed entirely resewn. But I was up to the challenge and rebuilt the dress, giving it a whole new lease of life.

The Details

Vintage dress; Vintage scarf; Maison Scotch bomber jacket; & Other Stories bag; Marni shoes; Miu Miu sunglasses; ASOS brooch

Of course, there was no way I couldn't take the opportunity to channel at bit of Gucci in my outfit, so I added the floral brooch and pussy bow necktie.

Being camouflaged among the plants and ferns was an unexpected plus.
