Get Knotted

TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT

Outfits and style is so personal to everyone. An outfit that I absolutely adore usually doesn't even register an eyebrow raise with you guys, then outfits I think are blah get positive reactions. Outfits posts are nothing if not a bit of a crapshoot. But this is definitely one of my current favourite combos. It's got everything I love at the moment, from knots to gingham to asymmetry.

I've been pretty obsessed with gingham lately but not twee gingham, but rather gingham that's been dosed with some edgy attitude. I've shown you a few labels which have been reinventing the humble print lately,  and when I saw a very dull gingham skirt in Zara I took that as a sign I should buy it and make it cool. All it took is a drape and a stitch and suddenly it's less Laura Ingalls and more Vivienne Westwood. It now works perfectly with my favourite one-shouldered, knot detailed A.W.A.K.E. top.

The Details

My skirt and top are enhanced by a factor of 10 thanks to these stunning Miista shoes. You know how much I adore a large knot detail on shoes - heavens knows I've shown you enough designers doing it - but Miista, as always, take it to another level. A classic black brogue is enhanced by not only the knot detail but also the rather delicious squared-off toe.

These are also ridiculously comfy, as an extensive walk around the Edinburgh Festival with no socks on has proven. And if that's not a test of comfort, I don't know what is.
