I've said it many times before and I will say it again. I so admire creative people. People who can knit and sew, cook, paint and draw. Just take a look at all the things Queen Michelle was showing you yesterday. That girl could turn her hand to anything!
When it comes to illustration and painting, one girl who has it all buttoned up is the lovely
Gill Button who is showing at the Art and Antiques Fair at Olympia, London: until Sunday July 3rd where a selection of her work will be on display with Fashion Illustration Gallery at SOFA London 2016 on stand 48.
In 2014 she created a blog called Sketchy Men for which she made a new hand crafted painting or drawing every day, featuring new faces starting out in modelling these works have helped her gain new clients including Gucci and Dries Van Noten, Glamour and Numero.
In fact earlier this year she hand painted over 1200 invitations for the Dries Van Noten Fall 16 show. She allowed herself two minutes maximum for each invitation!!!!
Everything feels loose, fluid but very real. It's up close and personal.
I especially love her ink work. I always thought the top illustration reminded me slightly of a grumpy Queen Michelle in her denim jacket!.
And much as I love her people pieces, my favourite has to be this charming crow...
