Pop Of Poppy

So you guys didn't seem ready for my big sleeved gingham dress a few weeks ago. It's true, the silhouette isn't for the faint of heart, but since this never has been, and never will be, a jeans and t-shirt kinda blog, I favour anything that's challenging, and over-sized sleeves in combination with gingham isn't easy to carry off.
At first glance it seems that a dress like that wouldn't have any styling wiggle room, as it were, but actually it really does if you're handy with layering. It just so happens one of my favourite colour combinations is pale blue with poppy red so when I found this cheap as chips PVC skirt on ASOS Marketplace, it was ripe for pairing with the dress worn as a top.

The skirt is too cheap for me to actually enjoy wearing it - I have a certain level of quality I like to wear and this doesn't measure up - but I settled for it because I just cannot find a nice affordable leather one. I would of course settle for red velvet but I have pretty much given up all hope on ever getting anything perfect in red velvet.
Anyway, I digress. If you can see past the huge sleeves, don't be alarmed if you see this dress quite a few more time on the blog as I have many more styling plans for it.
