Black Out

Under Her Black Wings

It's wet, it's cold, it's stormy. Hardly weather to inspire bright and colourful outfits. For those of you who prefer my print and colour based outfits, you've probably already scrolled past this extreme black out, but mama is a goth at heart and long time readers will be more than familiar with this kind of outfit on me. It's my reset, my default. And unless the perfect red velvet, ruffles or floral print presents itself to me any time soon, there's going to be plenty more of this.

This harness is many many years old, a fortunate discovery long before harnesses were ubiquitous, as they are now. Prior to finding this, I had to make my own, so rare were they to find. This one is better back to front, as I'm wearing it here, and proves a perfect accompaniment to this All Saints dress I bought last summer.

All Saints dress; Madam V coverup; Underground England shoes; & Other Stories bag; Unknown harness and collar

This dress is also not very flattering on the upper arms of a lady of a certain vintage, like myself, and this sheer Madam V coverup has been my savior in such instances countless times over the years. It came from one of my favourite lingerie shops in Glasgow, which sadly went out of business a long time ago.  And of course, I couldn't help but find a way to introduce a white collar into the mix. I'm nothing if not utterly predictable.
