Clutch Control

Jen Cheema is a 2013 graduate of Chelsea College of Art & Design's BA (Hons) Textile Design, who is soon to embark upon the MA Textiles course at the Royal College of Art this coming September. The young designer has previously sold print designs to the likes of Louis Vuitton and her work has been featured in ASOS Magazine, Hunger TV and The Evening Standard, amongst others.

I was contacted by Jen,who  recently translated her quirky prints from her graduate collection into clutch bags, as she had very kindly designed one with a specific colour combination in mind for me. She explained to me it was "a challenge of sorts as I know how you're currently rocking leather jackets and minimal colour". Very true, but Jen successfully managed to tempt out of my current black leather phase to enjoy her very graphic prints.

The print on the clutch is almost 3D has it's housed on what feels like mousemat material then mounted onto bright neoprene-like fabric. This is not only a super cute and very affordable little bag but it will also be a great little place to keep my iPad.

I decided to work with the bright colour of bag and wear similarly bright hues in my outfit. This Henry Holland suit is amazing but the skirt is just way too short for me, so I fix that issue by always wearing another skirt underneath. In this instance I upped the graphic element and added opposing stripes.

Well done to Jen for tempting me out of my tatty black gear for a day!
